About Metropolitan Library System
The Metropolitan Library System is composed of 12 large, full-service libraries located conveniently throughout Oklahoma County, and five smaller extension libraries, four of which are located in the eastern part of the county in the cities of Harrah, Jones, Luther, and Nicoma Park. Our primary customers are the residents of Oklahoma County. For us, that includes anyone who lives or attends school in Oklahoma County, or who owns property here.
Services
The MLS has over 1 million books and material available for borrowing. Customers may borrow any items from one MLS library and return it to another MLS library. A reserve system is also available for customers who want a book that is available within the system, delivered to a certain location when it is available. eMedia, or downloadable audio and ebooks, are available on the MLS website at http://www.metrolibrary.org/. Thousands of titles are available to listen on your MP3 players or read through your supported eBook reader.
Programs
The MLS offers daily programs at the many different libraries. Programs range from world class musicians to children "Reading to Dogs". Almost every day there is a children's Story Time at one of the libraries as well as some type of teen or adult activity. Check out our online calendar of events regularly or subscribe to our RSS feeds to find out what's happening in your neighborhood library.
